here's an *actual* shoe shopping challenge


Hi ESB!

So I'm wearing this most perfect dress in the world- I wear it around my house all the time for fun and I cannot wait to get married in it. I am 5'10" and I'm getting married outside, on grass. 

WHAT SHOES do I wear? It's in October, so closed-toe is preferable. Thanks so much for helping me plan my wedding, one blog post at a time. 

Size + Budg: 9-10, and preferably below $200 but I'm willing to splurge for something real good.

I'm throwing this one out to you guys, but…. Some sort of cheetah/leopard calf hair situation would be amazing. (Ahem)


p.s. wtf is going on with these animal toe shoes. pls discuss.

    turns out i'm having a moment with brown booties..

    -- frye, dark brown

    -- lace ups

    -- unrealistic splurge (DIY option: go out to a ranch and kick fence posts/ walk around in poo for a week)

      I like the idea of booties okay but these are FULL ON BOOTS. They seem way too heavy. It's a little Annie Oakley for me.

    I love the toe shoes but... plastic, for that price? Really? They look SO uncomfortable too.

    As for this one i just thing solid pump in red or nude. I'm boring 'kay.

      also i guess these emerson frys are too summery/not closed toe, but they are so lovely and such a good price on sale. also the wedge is good for grass.

    I don't love the whole platform trend but I think the tones in these Stella McCartney Wedges would look great with this amazing dress!
    I also like the idea of a little bit of metallic peeping out, these Seychelle's might be a disaster or might be great?
    My favorite would be these All Black Piscene Wedge
    the blue picks up on the pale centers of the flowers without being matchy-matchy and the texture is cool without being too distracting.

    SO MANY CHOICES. Seriously too many ways to go with this dress but they are all awesome.

      Totally skipped over the walking on grass part. SO just scratch all that above and go with these (dark purple version of the taupe wedges).

    Those toe shoes...I don't get it. More like Barbie toes than animal toes. Maybe I'm not cool enough for it.

    I'm excited to see what this turns up, because I too am searching for outdoor-appropriate closed-toed shoes with a heel that don't look like cowboy boots. No easy feet (haha see what I did there?)

      I wore something really similar to these particular Fryes for my wedding (they had an ankle strap instead of the t-strap). They are hands-down the most comfortable heels I have ever owned.
