what if...........

what if every post
was a haiku poem for you?
i think i'd like that.

17 beats's 30 poems in 30 days is the best thing that's happened to my RSS reader for a while.

Speaking of..... I'm giving The Old Reader a try. It took them a week or two to import my subscriptions from Google Reader (which will be GONE as of July 1), but I've been using it steadily since and I'm quite pleased.

  1. Have you tried Feedly? I'm using that right now and I'm not crazy about it. Wondering if you had thoughts on how the two compare.

  2. I really like Feedly, especially on my tablet. I tried it years ago and went back to Google Reader but it's much improved.

    1. oh, good point. i should try both on the ipad. i keep forgetting we have an ipad!

  3. Feedly is pretty but I don't like that it's a plugin, so I can't look at it from any computer. The Old Reader looks promising, though!

  4. Feedly's too interventionist for me. I'll try this thing you just mentioned that I'm too lazy to scroll up and read the name of but not apparently too lazy to keep typing about.

    1. interventionist how? my test didn't go very far.

  5. "haiku poem" is redundant, isn't it? clearly i need work.

    1. i let that and "wierd" slide. trying to give you space.

    2. you want to hear something embarrassing? i actually checked the spelling of "wierdo." by googling it. so that went well.

    3. i thought it was an intentional misspell/being nice to the sad Ms. K.

    4. In a Scottish accent, "poem" has two syllables (in Glaswegian it even has a "y" sound in the middle, po-yem), so, yeah, I think 17 Beats' spot at the top of the haiku blogger rankings is safe for a while yet. But full marks for effort.

I've somehow ended up relying on Bloglovin, of all things, for keeping up with my feeds. It's the only thing that seemed to work on my crappy work computer (and I'm damned if I'm going to stop reading blogs at work).

    5. I thought you were being nice to K, too! Look how much credit you get, ESB.

    6. @Kirsty MARKS FOR *EFFORT*?? I'd rather you just admit that my haiku poem sucks.

    7. @Scarlet @Rachel it is something that I might do.... but usually i just correct misspellings. (And I love you for giving me the credit.)

    8. I do not think I have spelled weird/wierd right, um, ever in my life. But as my mother insists, "Spelling is not a sign of intelligence!"

Also: happy to report that London is looking up, thanks in no small part how much you all rock. <3

  6. Ok, you finally convinced me to start a Reader. Usually I just visit 8-10 different sites first thing in the morning. You may have just changed my life.

(And yes, I'm what they consider a 'late adopter' when it comes to technology)

  7. I read ESB on the old reader! I like it a lot.

I used the switch from Google reader as an excuse to start fresh with my reading list, manually signing up for my favorites and purging the "meh"s.

    1. 'purging the "meh"s' sounds really dirty.

  8. so, pick one. Old Reader, Feedly, etc...it really doesn't matter as long as it works. And then have it push to Flipboard on your iPad. LIFE CHANGING. I swear.
