welcome to my new favorite shirt

This mesh tee from Sarafan + Duende arrived in the mail from Pour Porter yesterday and I almost lost my shit. Even H said, "Wow, that's cool" the instant I opened the box.

[Update: They are now SOLD OUT!]

p.s. I got an email recently asking "where do the cool girls shop?" Pour Porter is definitely one of those spots.

p.p.s. Maybe "where do the cool girls shop?" could be a new series. Or would that be redundant?

  1. I vote yes on where do the cool girls shop?
And maybe "where do cool girls shop when they mad broke yo" also.

  3. the inability to wear cool drapey (drapy?) shirts is the bane of my existence. in all seriousness. me without a nipped waist = sack of potatoes but not in a cute way.

    but yeah, this is awesome.

    1. Drapey may not actually be the most flattering look for ME (not tall, not *not* curvy) but I do it anyway. Sheer helps.

  4. Would love an installment on where the cool (and also kind of fat) girls shop....

  5. Do you wear something under this or do you let the sheer go solo? I keep getting stuck on that and then I end up avoiding all my sheer stuff.

Related - does anyone have a good source for silk tanks?

    1. For work, I'm rocking a white tank under this one. (It dips really low in the back.) But I have been known to go pretty sheer with a black bra.

    2. Got it. I have issues with layering cotton (feel like it messes with the drape of sheer tops?) but have the worst time finding silk tanks. I have an awesome black one from the Vince sample sale that I use constantly but I need one in white/beige. But I HATE shopping for boring things (tank tops, workout pants and black flats have been on my list for over a year now).

    3. this particular shirt is almost like a sweater weave -- no prob for the drape. but i know what you mean.

i've had boring things on my list forever too: sports bras, sweatpants, warm jacket for set...

    4. to my great surprise, i ended a won't-mess-with-the-drape-cami hunt at banana republic recently. this in black has worked like a charm under my gauzy man-repelling helmut lang tops, and the seamlessness of the nylon and unfussiness of the cut are pleasant.

    5. i know i should just suck it up and buy one.

    6. LMO, I should have known you'd have a source. I'll be checking those out, esp since my silk hunt has gone unrewarded for so long. I'll accept substitutes at this point.

    7. Proving that I'm not one of the cool girls by linking to these silk tanks:

      JCrew

      Talbots

    8. All I ever wear is drapey sheer tops with camisoles underneath. Like every day. Right now.

Forever 21 has camis in every goddamn color, like a friggin PYRAMID of them for $2.90 each. YES, Forever 21.

  6. A bit redundant. Aren't only cool girls allowed here anyway? Well, and me.

    And I like the shirt.

    1. There are some of us that like to think we are cool, but really aren't so much.

    2. I'm definitely not cool enough for Pour Porter.

  7. ugh, maybe 'boring basics' should be a new series, too. cause I hate shopping for that stuff too, but you always have great non-boring alternatives to basics, esb.
also: drapey sheer fabulous! too bad since you posted this they're all gone.

  8. I love the shape, hate the colour. Beige and its varieties look awful with my skin tone.
