If you'll indulge me....

I used to share weird personal stuff on the blog.

You know, stuff about dirty dishes and my struggle with our finances and how sometimes my husband sleeps on the couch.

And then I went "pro" and readership went up and somewhere along the line I stopped sharing so much. I guess I worry that y'all are just here for the wedding snark and you have no interest in the rest of it.

But. I really liked the blog when I was putting myself out there. The posts that I am most afraid to publish always turn out to be the most gratifying.

And so, if you'll indulge me, I think I'll try to get a little more personal again.

Up next: An ode to eye cream

  4. Yes! After discussing the ins and outs of lube and breast cream (which was fun and informative!), I think I can handle eye cream. I'd also love to hear about your work projects / writing projects, you know, if you're taking requests. ;)

  6. My guy and I have lived together for years, are newly engaged, couldn't be happier . . . and he sleeps in the "guest" bedroom almost every night. It used to worry me, but whatever - we love each other and are happy, so who cares if we happen to sleep better when we have our own space?

  8. Looking forward to that!

Julia Child and Paul Child never slept in the same bed because of his insomnia and if their letters and bio are any hints they had one of the most romantic, sexy and awesome love life.

Also the finance post just brought me some relief because I was such a feminist and careerist and turns out i love being a stay at home spouse who takes care of the house and starts her own business much much more then any of that. Ive been struggling with that and your post cheered me up :D So yeah to more personal post!

  10. yes! please do!

btw, before my parents both retired and had completely different work schedules, they hardly ever slept in the same bed due to being afraid of waking the other when they had to leave or get in the bed. they will be married 37 years this november. :)

  13. I'd glad to hear this. I actually often think "I wish there was a blog just like this, but about other stuff in life."

  15. I am going to have trouble adjusting to the idea that you are a real person with a budget and feelings, and not just a high ‘n mighty queen of fashion.

    But, yes, go for it.

  17. It's true - we do like you. I got married 6+ years ago so I'm certainly not still reading for wedding advice.

  18. This rules. I live for the "real" stuff, and it only makes reading your blog that much better. I approve, in case you were wondering.
