A few months ago I felt like i needed a change, so I walked into a hair salon and asked them to "cut it all off." Little did I know, my boyfriend was planning on proposing to me the following week.
"OMG, I just cut off all my hair," I screamed at him. Since the proposal I've been questioned as to what I am going to do with my hair. My wedding is this May, I don't really have time to grow it out. Can you please help me with a cool alternative that does not involve flowers or feathers.
PS, I've attached a photo of my new hair cut and a link to the dress I'm getting.

Rock It.
You don't need anything on your head.
I think you will look HAWT in that dress with your awesome hair...!
ReplyDeleteAre extensions are out of the question? That dress is awesome, you will look stunning either way!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Own it, I think your short hair looks fabulous already.
ReplyDeleteI'm with esb. You are going to look so hot in that dress and you will look so very much like a bride. Short hair brides like hot & super cool.
ReplyDeletewhat is with women NEEDING LONG HAIR on their wedding day ? if it looked great before your boyfriend proposed, it still looks great now.
ReplyDeletewith your short haircut, people will be looking at your FACE, which is where you want them looking.
throw on a great pair of earrings and just rock the short hair!
ReplyDeletePhwoar, HOT!
ReplyDeletePS thanks for sharing the dress - new etsy "favorite"!
Agreed. I was going to suggest a pair of fabulous earrings, but actually there's quite a lot going on in the shoulder area of that dress already, and then this picture convinced me that a bridal glow (or a good highlighter) is all you need.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, if you really really want something in your hair, maybe something simple like this would work?
i think your hair looks gorg as is! but if you really want to accessorize, maybe a pretty headband? but honestly that dress should be the accessory commanding attention :)
ReplyDeleteThis is me! Except that I knew I was marrying in eight months but went and chopped off a foot of hair anyway. I guess I have a thing for random, spur of the moment decisions - not good for when you're in the hairdressers chair.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, after a small freakout and lots of 'how to make hair grow faster' googling (you can't!) I've decided to go with the flow and rock my ear-length wavy bob. Maybe with a fascinator.
Extensions might work for some people, but I find them a bit creepy.
ABSOLUTELY NO TO EXTENSIONS... a cute/simple headband or nothing.
ReplyDeletePut the money you are saving on your hair towards a facial and awesome makeup! You'll be glowing and rock the dress.
That dress will look totes hot with short, unadorned hair, like it is. HOT. Did I say that already? Effing hot, sister.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely with esb. First, that dress is amazing. Second, I think as it is so amazing and has such great details it will look even better with short hair than long hair like the dress model has. Third, your haircut is cute too!
ReplyDeleteOh my god you will look amazing. If you want hair ornaments for the bride-ish effect, which I wholly understand, how about a hair fork or comb? I could imagine a very simple one in brass with that dress.
ReplyDeleteRock that hair and some awesome earrings! That haircut is adorable and great!
ReplyDeletefirst, you are gorgeous. second, here is the simplest, thin gold headband I could find
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your engagement! Wow, what a dress! I agree with ESB; you don't need anything in your hair (especially with that flower at your shoulder). You could splurge on a special pair of earrings; I adore the story behind these love knots. Good luck! xo.
ReplyDeleteLove your dress and your hair looks great! And congratulations!
ReplyDeleteUmm, amazing!! Rock the short hair with nothing more elaborate than the simplest of headbands. Maybe. Or probably nothing. Seriously fantastic dress choice!

ReplyDeleteHoly hell - you will look so hot. Listen to these people.
ReplyDeleteI might be in the minority, but I'm thinking 1920s vintage lace veil knotted in the back, like this?
ReplyDeleteYou're going to look like a godess. Rock it, lady.
ReplyDeleteno need for anything in your hair with a dress like that! it's so stunning!
ReplyDeleteOMG DON'T YOU DARE PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR HEAD. your hair is amazing and your dress is stunning. you're going to look like a goddess!
ReplyDeleterock it like colleen rocked it! http://www.inspiredtoshare.com/category/our-wedding-2/
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Nothing in your hair! Do whatever you normally would to fancy yourself for a night out. Get a huge, gold cuff and you're set. You are going to look fabulous! That dress is perfect for a short cut.
ReplyDeleteOh, that dress is going to be gorgeous with your short hair. With the shoulder detail you'd want it up anyway.
ReplyDeleteAgreed times 10349392832832, your hair looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY. What everyone else said. That dress is KILLER and you're going to look amazing. No extensions. I'd go with awesome earrings, IF you decide to do anything else.
ReplyDelete(Redundant, unhelpful comment, but..) Holy Shit, that DRESS.
ReplyDeleteI just swooned. Srsly. Ditto on the earrings and that's it. HOT.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, SEND US PICS.
I would wear a simple grecian headband...something like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/60271951/art-deco-headband-grecian-goddess?utm_source=googleproduct&utm_medium=syndication&utm_campaign=GPS
ReplyDeleteohmygawd, that dress is amazing and you are gorgeous and you don't need anything on your head but anything you do put on your head will look amazing particularly a headband-type-thingie. And breath.
ReplyDeleteHot damn you are going to look amazing. And the hair is immense.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your hair and your dress I immediately thought of Josephine Baker and Billie Holiday could be good style icons- that dress is so slinky and chic, and the short hair, I love it so much, so I could see something very 20s with feathers or bling or an offset large flower.
ReplyDeleteThen heading down the google image rabbit hole I came across Peggy Lee and Janelle Monae wearing nice earrings and nothing in the hair.
Peggy Lee
Janelle earrings 1
Janelle earrings 2
YOUR HAIR IS AMAZING.
ReplyDeletealso, two words: big earrings.
Not helpful, but DAYUM THAT IS A HOT WEDDING DRESS. Maybe some tiny gold pins in your hair?
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS dress! You don't need anything in your hair, the dress is enough.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to have short hair on my wedding day but didn't have enough balls...you will look amaze...just get a mean make up artist to polish off the hotness!
ReplyDeleteum, i know this has nothing to do with your hair/dress (i think you got a fair amount of opinions here anyway), but lady, i just have to say, you have the BEST nails... and i'm not gonna lie and pretend i'm not totally jealous right now.
ReplyDeleteI chopped my hair right before my husband proposed and could not BELIEVE he didn't stop me. Turns out, guys have no idea about the long hair + bride thing. My hairdresser suggested prenatal vitamins, and sure enough, my hair grew double-time (no baby necessary). But I agree -- with that dress and face, you have everything you need to look stunning at your wedding!
