I am having the super funsiest time perusing your Shopping Contest entries. Nicole almost stole my heart for doing the above layout herself in Polyvore.
But you guys should know better than to suggest any kind of dress in white/ivory/blush for a rehearsal dinner.
DON'T BLOW YOUR WHITE-DRESS WAD THE NIGHT BEFORE THE DAMN WEDDING.
I'll give you til Monday afternoon-ish PST to post more entries/redeem yourselves.
Erin Fetherston dress on The Outnet ($195), Big Bunny Ring by Digby & Iona at Catbird ($180), Rabbit's Foot Necklace from Cities In Dust Inc. ($60), Jeffrey Campbell Rose Floral Platforms from Bona Drag ($130)

But what if you are wearing a colored dress at the wedding?
ReplyDeletewhat if the rehearsal dinner is lit entirely with colored bulbs?
ReplyDeletewell i guess im blowing the wad. im wearing my moms wedding dress she made in 1970 for my rehearsal. she let me alter it short. oh yeah, and its her and my dads 39th wedding anniversary on our actual rehearsal date.
ReplyDeleteThis Sarah Berman with the sparkly booties from Bona Drag, an antique vauxhall necklace, and a gold cuff from Bario-Neal.
ReplyDeleteshit. you're right. i didn't even think of that...
ReplyDeleteHoly shit that dress is amazing. And affordable.
ReplyDelete@Melissa gah i love those boots
ReplyDeleteOk, here's a new one to make up for the one I did with a pale colored dress. Dress, shoes, cuff, jacket.
ReplyDeletethat dress is ludicrously good, melissa.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree at all. Unless you're wearing a white gown for your rehearsal, I don't see how that blows your wedding dress.
ReplyDelete@holly, I'm wearing my mom's wedding dress as my reception dress (yeah, that's right, my second dress...).
I disagree. The rehearsal is a *completely appropriate* place to look like a kick ass bride. And it's an excuse to wear that edgy urban blush/ivory/white/pale dress that so many brides kinda want to change into for the reception. I mean don't wear a freakin' veil or anything, but light colors are way right for brides at rehearsal dinners.
ReplyDeleteStill, it's your website, so what about this Helmut Lang? (It's $252, but close enough right?)
An Andy Lifschutz cocktail ring.
The Iossellini eagle earrings. And spiky booties.
I also like this Zimmerman dress. Tasteful and edgy.
ReplyDeleteWith this Unearthen kitty locket.
And green platforms from Jeffrey Campbell.
I am seeing more brides wearing white, personally, I like more color but maybe she wants to be "the bride" the night before too! Sherri Shepherd wore a beautiful rose printed white dress from Teri Jon, this outfit pulls in both white with roses, that's the way to go!
ReplyDeleteDamn, yeah - I thought the request was for something bridal and edgy. Well, back to the original thread....

Shit. So close. What can I say? I like me some Erin Fetherston. Back to the Polyvore drawing board. xo.
ReplyDeleteOK, Ms. ESB. Please accept my second submission. Featuring this dress, these booties, this clutch (in royal blue pebble) and these rings. xo.
ReplyDeletethat dress is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI know it's probably too late, but I just stumbled upon this Adam beauty, which I thought would be heavenly with the Bona Drag Snake Necklace, and these Nlack pumps.
ReplyDelete@Melissa not too late. i haven't even starting dealing with this. TOO MUCH TOO GOOD. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
