signet wedding band

Is this a new trend or is Refinery29 just trying to make it into one?

Anyhoo. I'm digging this vintage men's band (avail at Erica Weiner). Any AR's out there??

Oooooooooooh. There's a heart-shaped one too. It would take a BALLSY dude to rock that.

  1. ...I'm not a fan. It looks too much like a high school class ring, which are anything but trendy.

  2. i dig, but i think they're pushing it a leeeeeeeettle too hard. like 1 out of 17 would have been sufficient.

  4. Oh man, I don't know. I love the look, but I can't see my man wearing it. @katherinekiyoko, it does look slightly high schoolish. It's so close though...

  5. we were looking for a signet ring for the fiance (possibly both of us - but there are easy girl versions). we loved some of the ones erie basin had (where my engagement ring is from) but then he didn't have them.

    like the bottom two here...

we ended up doing just REALLY thin gold bands (which is pretty unusual for a guy, i think).

  6. i dated a guy whose first two initials were NS. one might have convinced him to wear a heart-shaped ring; you never know with french kids.

why is silver not a good idea? people wear the tone all the time (platinum, white gold); is there something wrong with the metal?

  7. i am a fan of a signet ring. i wear my father's signet ring from time to time on my pointer finger on my right hand... i also sometimes steal my husband's family crest ring (that he never wears) and wear it the same way. they look very similar. i had never thought so much about signets as a wedding band, but i think i quite like the idea.

  9. my husband wears a signet ring, though not as his wedding band. it's absolutely beautiful, and as he says, 'one of the few pieces of jewelry besides a watch that a man can wear'. it's so classy, i love it.

  10. I love Erica Weiner! I'm looking at one of her engagement rings for myself to replace my beloved custom-made engagement ring, which was stolen from my home during a break-in. Not cool, y'all. (I've cried big tears over it!) Erica Weiner's team has been EXTREMELY helpful. Highly recommended!

As for men's bands, let him choose the band. If he likes a signet ring, more power to him! If he likes silver, he should wear silver!

    xo.

  11. Nothing wrong with the COLOR silver, but the metal won't hold up over 40+ years of daily wear.

  12. ...so geriatric and/or early-romantic-poet marrieds-to-be can still rock them, though.

  13. Have the agree with @maren. While we love that these are unique rings- not sure any guys we know would wear them.

With that said, we like to see things that are a little bit off the beaten track.

  14. As a man, not sure I'd like that as a wedding band.

Also, why wouldn't silver hold up for many years to come? It's still a precious metal. The worse that can happen is that it tarnishes over time, but nothing a little polish couldn't sort out. Point is most precious metals have draw backs..even platinum.

  15. I wear a signet ring, as my wedding band, engraved with his and my first initial, and our last name initial in the center as a script momogram. My husband wears a traditional wedding band.
