How did I miss these photos from Vinny Dotolo of Animal Restaurant's wedding (catered by Prune)?
PIGS IN A BLANKET!
Also: We have confirmation that pie is officially the new cupcake. Which means it's time to move on to the next thing, obvio.
May I humbly suggest ice cream?

Yes, ice cream. Or brownies. Or ice cream on brownies.
ReplyDeletewe went to animal one time and i got the worst heart burn because of all the meat consumption, but it was SO worth it.
ReplyDeleteIcecream sandwiches. Case closed.
ReplyDeletemmmm. i want all those pigs in a blanket in my mouth NOW ! yum ! looks like it was a fun party.
ReplyDeleteAt our wedding we served pie, mini fruit tarts and BROWNIE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. Yep. It's really all about the options, because I've discovered people's preferences about dessert are STRONG.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of an ice cream van (probably because ice cream is legitimately my favourite food). I also think a crepe van would be fab. I've seen vans for hire, such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteWe did ice cream sandwiches and rocket pops out of a little ice cream cart with an umbrella and everything. It was a huge hit. Totally the next thing.
ReplyDeleteWe're having an ice cream sundae bar. Maybe ice cream is the new pie and we just didn't know it yet?
ReplyDeleteWe had an ice cream sundae bar at my wedding two years ago! I think this is the first time I've ever been ahead of the trend curve.
ReplyDeleteI love pie! If pie is the next cupcake, and this means there's gonna be a fancy pie-shop on every corner of my town, I would die happy.
ReplyDeleteWe had an ice cream sundae bar too with brownies and toppings at my wedding 4 weeks ago. We did a first scoop. It was a huge hit.
ReplyDeleteWe're doing mini cream puffs. And candy, which I know is played, but I am a legitimate candy fiend.
ReplyDeleteI'm with HalfPint... totally ice cream on brownie... but have you tried "white chocolate brownies"??! -or should I say "whities" anyway... give them a try!! XOX Nikki
ReplyDeleteYes ice cream! We handed out tiny ice creams after the vows down at Brooklyn Bridge Park (pistachio, chocolate, banana and coffee) and everyone loved them (and it made great photo opps!)
ReplyDeleteMy brother had an ice cream sundae bar too, catered by Bi-Rite Market, in San Francisco. Only issue? Looooong lines.
ReplyDeleteTotally, we had a little ice cream car in our high-tea / brunch reception.
