I've been talking about buying white jeans for years. This cropped pair from the Gap (via Refinery29) might actually work for me.
"with the granny sandals" says Rob.
EXACTLY, Rob. Exactly.
With the (ahem) vintage Famolares I bought for $24 at Wasteland. No Urban Outfitters grannies for me.
p.s. I finally got a look at the Bass sandals (or a version of them) at the outlet mall the other day. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGLY. No idea why I was obsessed.
stick with the vintage, the other ones are pretty ugly!
ReplyDelete"white jeans" and "work for me" are two things i (and most women) could never say together. lucky you!
ReplyDelete@Celia well, I haven't actually *tried them on* yet.
ReplyDeleteYAY I have this exact pair of white Gap cropped jeans. Always good to have some esb wardrobe approval
ReplyDeletePS I also have a mild twitter crush on rob
ReplyDelete@nikki watch out for Rob. he likes to flirt with married ladies.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it!
ReplyDeleteInnate clumsiness and stain magnetism prohibit white jeans from being a viable option.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of light peach colored jeans I'll be busting out this summer.
ReplyDeleteFor me, white denim conjures up images of servers at Cheesecake Factory.
ReplyDeleteI tell my cousins to be that I'm walking down the aisle in white jeans. Mariah Carey style. Diamantes and all.
ReplyDelete@Anon yesssssssssssssss.
ReplyDeleteWhite jeans don't like my bottom. But I love white jeans. Life can be cruel.

You're a brave woman. I love the idea of cropped tight white jeans, but can't wear them as I'm sure they will make my legs look shorter and heavier than they are.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to pair with a high, clunky heel!
Can you tell me why they always make the pockets out of white fabric that shows through the jeans? SOOOOO stupid. Anyone know of a brand that does not do that?
ReplyDeleteBass thong sandals remind me of childhood summers in Florida, hanging out with the super cool girl who's grandparents lived below my grandparent's condo unit. She was a few years older than me and I WORSHIPED her and her sandals (and dolphin shorts, and Ron Jon's shirts and everything else she wore).
ReplyDeleteI recently picked some up in tan (her's were brown) and I luv, luv, luv, them! They saved my feet between heels during my wedding weekend. I'm still wearing them around the house like slippers.
I honestly have had about 10 conversations about my need for white jeans in the past week. right on sister.
ReplyDelete@Dawn but...... srsly. they are UGLY though, right?
ReplyDeleteI went back and forth on them for a while. Your post about granny sandals got me thinking about them again and then ideeli had them for a discount and I snatched them up. They get cuter and cuter the more I wear them because they are so FREAKING comfortable. A whole day of sightseeing with family in DTLA made me fall in love and, you know, love is blind.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do the strappy buckle ones though and the only other color I'd consider is black. The tan leather is softer though and I think it makes the sole look less fugly.
This makes me want to wear my white trousers this weekend.
