Dear ESB: What do I wear on my head that doesn't make me look like a tool?
I bought my dress from David's Bridal. (Don't judge me, they're cheap as hell and convenient)
What can I wear on my head that's not a birdcage or a fingertip. Preferably badass or sassy.
*****
I'm at a loss. It has nothing to do with my hatred of David's Bridal, but it may be related to my hatred of the word "sassy."
HELP, YOU GUYS.

When in doubt, go ban.do

Are we allowed to say "Sass-a-frass"?
ashley beat me to it. i wore a ban.do and i loved that it was "bridal" without being "BRIDAL".
ReplyDeleteDo you need to wear something on your head?
ReplyDeletenot necessarily placed where the model has it, but this is pretty.

what accordians said. do you REALLY have to?
ReplyDeleteoh scratch mine, its not badass or sassy, just pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow about nothing? Just make sure your hair looks awesome. Or maybe a really funky flower - like one of those spiky orchids, or a fluffy green trick dianthus.

ReplyDeleteQueen for the day. Obv, order to match your wedding colors. Totally love the dress, btw. You can definitely bring the sass in that.
@Abby-Wan YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME.
ReplyDeletehahahahha that fucking crown.
ReplyDeleteum, just don't wear a veil. that dress would look fine w/o one.
wow to the crown.
ReplyDeleteyes to the ban.do
in all seriousness, if you don't wear your hair in either of these two styles, you're making a huge mistake.
Horse
Jack Rabbit
oh man PLEASE don't wear the crown. It's a joke, right? RIGHT?!
ReplyDeleteI am going sans headpiece for my upcoming nups.
HAHAHHAH! A purple glitter crown. That right there is awesome.
ReplyDeleteNot sure it goes with your dress, but....a feather halo: http://www.etsy.com/listing/65507578/feather-halo-headband-in-browns
Or, a wide headband: http://www.etsy.com/listing/65539447/vintage-lace-headband-limited-production
Or even, a shimmery scarf that can be worn tied in a bow or a knot if you're not a bow kind of gal: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61271201/the-cinema-headband-in-nude-shimmer
And last but not least...bling meets bohemian: http://www.etsy.com/listing/50724384/buy-1-get-1-sale-silvery-crownsash-a
I don't think that dress quite calls for bad assery nor sassiness.
ReplyDeleteSkip the damn veil and go for a ban.do, or at least anything besides that friggin crown.
scrap everything and get what that girl in the picture is wearing. that is badass.
ReplyDeleteTwo words: Feathers, Bitches.
ReplyDeleteYou can go fancy: http://etsy.me/fYGzkZ
or soft and sweet: http://etsy.me/gSqj7l
or hard core (I'm wearing a variation of this in a few weeks): http://etsy.me/gLvTrH
Just search for feather bridal on etsy.
I was going to write "do you have to wear anything?" but I guess it depends on your hair.
ReplyDeleteAssuming you want to look special, if your hair is very simple and you can't do too much to it, it'd probably be nice to have something in your hair (since the dress is so formal). But if your hair is long or curly or big, you could pin it up all pretty and look special.
With that dress, I'd go with some sort of crystal comb or pin, maybe with feathers--deco. Something natural (like a flower crown) might look weird with your dress.
um can you please wear the crown?? PRETTY PLEASE??
ReplyDeletethis post has been up for EIGHT HOURS and nobody mentioned my hideous typo?? thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteWow. Y'all have lost your damn minds. Sass + David's Bridal = tears.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a hot glue gun? Do you have access to the internet? Buy a little tulle and a few rhinestones, and a headband from Claire's. Fuss with it till it's cute, and glue. The end.
Badass + sassy = not being like every other "bride". So I'd go with hair. On your head. Up, maybe, if it's long enough (because that'll look a bit more elegant and dressy without adornment). But less fluff is always good. And nothing on your head means more attention for fabulous shoes...
ReplyDeleteHmmm that dress is pretty traditional. If you go with a veil it'll be even more so. Here's a couple takes on the flower thing that aren't too flowery:

Not sure about your dress but this take on the pillbox hat would look great with a Mod 60's short shift:
