These dudes are from Brooklyn (obv). But the fingerless gloves and the brown bread and the little tin of sardines remind me of my Da, who lives up on the West Coast of Canada.
This is pretty what my dad's lunch looks like every day. Maybe minus the cakes. Definitely minus the rabbit-fur cosy.
Anyhoo. I can't wait to get up there and have tea with him.*

*You guys, I might be getting a teensy bit of Christmas fever. Is it too soon? I mean, I'm not DECORATING THE HOUSE or anything.
Not too soon. Also, I would like to have tea with those mens.
ReplyDeleteway to call me out.
ReplyDeletecan your dad be my dad, please?
I'm with Amanda on both counts. The not-too-soon is possibly because I've already started crafting (well, mostly coming up with a small list of crafts that I want to do & buying a few supplies).
ReplyDeletethis is awesome...obviously. definitely not too soon, i don't think...especially since you live so far away! i'd be itchin' for some family time, too! that is a badass tea party.
ReplyDeleteHow can I convince my manly friends that this is the most amazing thing in the world????
ReplyDeletewait, what? it's too early to have decorated my house?
ReplyDeletehow about swapping out my CD player for all five volumes of sufjan steven's songs for christmas?
not that i've done either of those things yet... just, you know, asking....
these photos are lovely. however, they cracked me up. that's probably because i live in brooklyn, though.
ReplyDeleteNOT TOO SOON TO GET CHRISTMAS FEVER. i can't wait to start listening to christmas muzak. it's my absolute favorite.
Um, I've been hanging out in the Christmas Lounge since Nov. 1st, so... I don't think it's too early. psst - join me here: http://somafm.com/play/christmas
ReplyDelete@everyone i like your style. ;)
ReplyDeletei want to come.
ReplyDeletenot to the tea party, but to canada.
can i come?
and if i did say i wanted to come to the tea party it would not be the facial hair but the cheese that drew me.
I say yes to all of it.
ReplyDeleteSO cute, even sweeter picturing a dad tea party.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting Xmas fever too. It's never too early, if only the 95 degree weather would quit I could run with it.
facial hair, cheese flannels. this is totally my kind of tea party. it's the opposite of what i have always pictured tea parties to be and that is a very good thing.
ReplyDeletebeards. be still my heart.
ReplyDeletethese guys are awesome. also, are you canadian?!
ReplyDeleteYou know it's getting a little weird when hipster dudes are posing for photos of their perfectly styled men's tea. It's like wedding inspiration for young, ironically facial-haired, image-conscious men.
ReplyDeletePretty, but a little TOO too. If you know what I'm saying. Though I shan't lie, I love the photos.
Also, christmas fever is seeping into my brain too. WTF??
@kristina agreed. the photos are pretty...as in pretty-staged. made me chuckle. all the boys i know around here who wear flannel and have beards spend their time chopping firewood, ice-fishing, and hunting. tea-time doesn't really fit into that demanding schedule...but this is MN. i guess brooklyn does things differently, and to each his own fuzzy tea cozy.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Brooklyn.... your hipsters are so....hip.
ReplyDeletespeaking of beards...
