The Social Network is
terrific. And I'm not just saying so because I have personal and ethical issues with Facebook.
Jesse Eisenberg tears it up.* My fave performance of the year.

*Also, he is adorable. I'll just come right out and say it: Jesse Eisenberg is the thinking girl's Michael Cera.
can't wait to see it! i love him...they usually have him play such a weakling though...that's mainly why i love zombieland so much..him reclaiming man, haha.
ReplyDelete@Lizzie Putting it in my netflix queue right now. I trust you have seen The Squid and the Whale?
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to go wrong with something that Aaron Sorkin wrote.
ReplyDeleteMy words exactly about Jesse being the thinking girl's Michael Cera! I've always a little dorky crush on Michael, but just got an even bigger crush on computer nerd Jesse....
ReplyDeletedude. you totally hurt my feelings. "the thinking girl's michael cera"? i will say that jesse elsenberg's performance in The Squid and the Whale was IMPECCABLE, but there's NO WAY he can compete with michael cera's ginormous brown doe eyes, mkay? why are you hating on my boyfriend like that?
ReplyDeletealso, have not see The Social Network because it's SO hyped up at this point, and that usually ends up being a letdown for me (ahem, 500 Days of Summer Bull Caca). but, i trust you, esb. A LOT. maybe i should give it a shot...
Oh, hyped up movies are usually such a let down. But nerds, I'll watch any time any day. Best part of the world they are them boys.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the word Oscar and Justin Timberlake do not belong in the same sentence. Right?
on sorkin, er, studio 60?
ReplyDeleteagreed, i loved it more than i expected to. but eduardo was my favorite (especially after seeing him the same week in "never let me go").
ReplyDeleteI1m dying to see it! I also think Jesse's adorable!
ReplyDeleteCamila F.
just saw Zombieland, and think Mr. Jesse E is a bit of a one trick pony. he plays the neurotic aspergers-y asshole very well. that said, i look forward to seeing THE FACEBOOK MOVIE. when the whole bedbug *ahem* .... issue finally clears up here.
ReplyDelete*****
on another note, my boyfriend tried to come up with a new expression equivalent to "one trick pony"
D : dude. that guy's a one note flute.
me : i believe that called a whistle. try again, hon.
I love Jesse Eisenberg! He is so adorable. And yes, The Social Network was great. I also love Aaron Sorkin.
ReplyDeleteWe were torn between The Social Network and The Town on Sunday. We only resolved it by making vows to see both within the next couple of weeks. Excited to see it, especially now that it has ESB approval.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Celia? 500 Days of Summer was hyped for being indie and WHIMSICAL, which always ends up being a let down for me (I nearly died trying to sit through it). I'm pretty sure this movie was hyped for being awesome, so I think we'll be safe.
Glad to hear someone else isn't a Facebook fanatic... deleted mine recently and have never been happier to be rid of it. No more Kool-Aid for me, thx.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Great movie, Fincher sure knows how to do his work :P
ReplyDeleteit was terrible. boring. could have read in an article.
