Mkay, I never do this. But....
In the spirit of the recession, because this came from someone I trust, and because I know TTO would approve, why the f*ck not?
If you're getting married in LA sometime between March 26th and April 16th and you don't have a caterer (why the f*ck don't you have a caterer?? get your shit together) read on:
We are looking for couples in their 20s and 30s who are getting married between 26th March and 16th April this year in the Los Angeles area and have yet to organise the caterers for their sit-down wedding dinner.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity - we want to film your wedding for a new TV series and provide the food on the big day for free (and to top it all off, there may be an appearance from a celebrity guest)!
Please email us photos, details of wedding date and venue, numbers at your sit down meal, along with your contact details. freefoodwedding@gmail.com
Is this bride not a dead ringer for Courtney Cox? And p.s. why is there no wine in her glass?? Photo from LA SmogShoppe wedding by Jonathan Canlas via Snippet & Ink.
She's got a little wine in that glass - white because she doesn't want to stain her dress. Only a smidge because she already drank the rest. (I completely made that up, but I think it's a good guess.) ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are SO RIGHT.
ReplyDeleteRight on Kathryn, she could be waiting for a refill.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great opportunity for some couples. Sometimes not having a caterer is out of their control. I just read about a couple who's vendors skipped town on them 3 months before their wedding.
"Why is she drinking wine in the shower in her dress?" is more like it.
ReplyDeleteI think she's drinking vodka from a wine glass. In the shower.
Am I the only one who thinks having a TV crew at my wedding sounds like a nightmare?
ReplyDeletethat is not wine her glass; it is water. i know alcohol when i see it and THAT is not it.
ReplyDeleteand yes, TOTALLY courtney cox.
After a night of dancing, drinking, and celebrating love, her fine friends convinced her that the water in her glass was indeed wine (after enough glasses, I promise this can be done) and she proceeded to sit in the bathroom, because, well, when you are drunk enough, why not?
ReplyDeletenot by a long shot, T-Bone; just the thought of that makes a little blood trickle out of my ear.
ReplyDeletefor a super-extroverted couple willing to wrangle like mongeese (is that a word?) over releases and what exactly the crew would be allowed to film, though? if you're stuck and into cultivating the random, it'd be an option, maybe.
i call no booze in the glass. that girl and carbs are not close.
I'm a little terrified trying to think of what kind of reality show this is. Is it just a show about a catering company or is it something crazier, like a whacked out low rent version of Top Chef? Are you very definitely going to get edible food or is there some doubt?
ReplyDeleteI love free, but I also like a bit of certainty.
totally Ali MacGraw from Love Story.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you meant you don't drink wine in the bathroom--I don't know about anyone else but I drink wine in the bathroom quite often.
ReplyDeletegood on you, nina! i stand corrected.
ReplyDelete@nina - i drink wine while getting ready to go out. in my family, we call this a 'dress n' drink'.
ReplyDelete@Naurnie doesn't everyone drink while getting ready to go out?
ReplyDeleteWe also started this ritual with my niece. She takes baths every night and always wants someone in there with her (she's 5 now but this started at 2) So me, my mom and my sister all hang out in the bathroom drinking red wine with her. Do you think we're setting a bad example??
ReplyDelete@nina I have a mom friend who uses bath time as her glass-of-wine time. f*ck it. it's the first 20 minutes she has to sit down all day.
ReplyDeleteseems like a great deal considering catering generally take one of the biggest chunks out of a wedding budget. i posted a link to this on my f.book fan page/twitter to try & spread the word...
ReplyDeleteWhy only in their 20s or 30s ?
