p.s. We have a gorg branch hook from OK that I love to death that seems not to be for sale online. Too bad for you.
*BREAKING NEWS: The branch fell down on Ben's head and Jamie has not put it back up. WTF?!*
Oh to be one of your few! Alas I shall sit on the sidelines and adore you and you words from afar!
ReplyDeleteit was a branch from my desert. so i take partial credit. but the fire that charred the wall-side of the branch? some drunk hippies whot left their camp stove burning all night get to take credit for that.
ReplyDeletejamie is the choicest. check out the sick WINGED MAP she just made for erbody's favorite milkmaid:

I LOVE THIS BRANCH. It is the BEST BRANCH.
ReplyDeleteis this the branch that went on the christmas brunch table with the big bulb lights? i love this branch too.
ReplyDeletebut pobrecito ben...
i always have home envy when i read her blog.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love that branch. Much better than antlers.
ReplyDeletethis makes me want to paint my walls white.. love the branch.. so simple
ReplyDeletehell yeah that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow could Ben's head get in the way of that gorgeous branch?
ReplyDeletei died when i saw this... it looks amazing.
ReplyDeletewhat's a little bump on the head in the name of home decor?
i just. don't. get. it.
ReplyDeletemaybe if yall saw it in person you would not have the love for the stick. i mean, don't get me wrong. i love the idea, this just wasn't the right execution of it.
but even still, that this is the picture i take that you repost makes me cringe, so maybe that isn't it.
but it is funny you should say that re: antlers and sticks.
back when i was obsessing over antlers for the christmas brunch table celia suggested sticks instead. so i pulled the birch branch down from above the tv (not the same one, C) and the christmas brunch table was born, branches instead of antlers.
i loved that christmas brunch table and i love the antlers, branches and sticks. i know i'm craftarded, but can someone explain to me how you fasten those things to a wall, you know, so they don't fall on my head in the middle of the night? i really want to know.
ReplyDeletemaybe i am not qualified to answer, since the above pictured branch has fallen down THREE TIMES, once on ben's head.
ReplyDeletebut the birch never has. so...
I just loop a bit of fishing wire around each end a few times, tie it off, and then loop the wire over a nail in the wall. i was using nails that were too small for the big branch above.
i am sure there is a way more proff way to do this.
I like this one better than the birch. More ANTLERY.
ReplyDeletei couldn't think of a better way to decorate a wall than with this lovely branch!
ReplyDeletethanx, jamie...i'm trying this. it's cute enough to risk a head injury.
ReplyDeletecrushed that the branch fell.
ReplyDeleteI love it.
At least it lives forever in this picture.
I'm missing out on blogs too. I feel like I have way too much to catch up to.
what a good branch; too bad it fell.
ReplyDeletein his minimalist phase in the 70s, my dad used to install a few giant branches for a christmas tree. even more cool than this.
