mkay. how bout jelly gladiators?
I am feelin these from See by Chloe.
They also come in black, just fyi. And may I point out that they're vegan? (Can't vouch for the Stuart Weitzmans. They kinda look like they're lined in leather.)
p.s. I'd appreciate it if you didn't point out that I'm 9 months behind trend.
p.p.s. According to The NY Times, "advancements in plastics and similar materials during the past 20 years have made it possible not only to mold a shoe to the foot, but to make shoes odor-resistant or perfume-scented. They are also better able to handle friction and sweat." Just fyi.

Jellies will always remind me of the height of cool--in 5th grade. I had sweet, sweet purple one.
ReplyDeletevegan schmegan. i ♥ the black pair.
ReplyDeleteI love em.
ReplyDeleteOdor resistant is key.
I used to have to keep my jellies outside.
vom.
better. i think i have a clear-shoe-aversion more so than a jellies aversion.
ReplyDeleteI fear my answer shall again be, no.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you really want you feet to smell like air freshener?
this is cool. i'm just not into jellies OR wellies (so 2009 or not) on your wedding day.
ReplyDeleteyeah, they're vegan... but also made of a petroleum product. ew.
ReplyDeletecan't we just stick with leather or fabric? :-/
I appreciate how worked up everyone is getting about this. It makes my life more fun.
ReplyDeleteI like the jellies, the melissa range all smell like lollies (Candies? in American), mold to your feet and are not sweaty. Also when someone spills beer on your shoes at the pub you can rinse them off under a tap, try that with fabric or leather.
ReplyDeleteare they really odor resistant? i don't know...someone should test them out and report back. i think they're cute...in a brighter color, like yellow.
ReplyDeletethese are better. still not convinced.
ReplyDeleteI remember making fun of the girls in middle school who wore the moses sandal version of jellies... even if I did like these I couldn't admit it just because of that
ReplyDeletedamn
as long as they are sandals and not closed toe.
ReplyDeleteI hate the gross foot sweat condensation look.
I like these better than the other ones which makes me think i hate the jewels rather than the jellies themselves.
ReplyDeleteUm. They are not biodegradable. Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteI kinda think that white is crazy chic, but I was on board yesterday. I still wouldn't pay that much for them, and who knew how defensive people would be about plastic shoes? Ha.
ReplyDelete@lilaphoenix I love Melissa shoes because they are made out of recycled plastic. And they are created with the entire shoes' life cycle in mind — you can recycle them! http://www.melissaaustralia.com.au/about
ReplyDeleteNo.
