Or, rather, do-it-with-your-friend haircut.
Clare of The Style Diaries enlisted her best friend Cindy (who is not trained as a stylist) to chop off all her hair. The result? Slammin.
You may remember I have DIY haircut fantasies a la Patti Smith. Or Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. For now, there's no way I'm letting go of Alexis. But maybe I'll train H when we run off to Barcelona or Berlin or wherever.
my dad cuts my mom's hair. it's maybe the most entertaining thing in the world. he just puts it in a pony tail and chops. it turns out amazingly well.
ReplyDelete*my mother is a very trusting woman.
i really wish i had a stylist i loved as much as you love yours.
ReplyDeleteawww! i think it looks fabulous! :) always way more fun with a good friend :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
diy is awesome. i used to chop my hair myself. sometimes, sans mirror. that only works if you don't mind some asymmetry, of course.
ReplyDeletebut i've gotten hair-finicky in my old age.
i am cutting my own hair for about a year now, it works...kind of!
ReplyDeletemy last haircut was done spontaneous and naked on a balcony by a friend who is a hairdresser, and it was the best one ive ever had!
p.s. let me know, when you are coming to europe/ berlin!
I was a DIYer, but then I fell in love with my new hairdresser. Cheap and wonderful. I love her!
ReplyDeletemy stylist is expensive as shit, but i love him to death. we have a 'vision'. and 'agreements'. that is to say, if i storm in PANICKING about how my hair MUST GO, he will sit me down and give me a firm talking to. he's in the 'hood so i can't cheat on him... even with my own hand.
ReplyDeletelove this idea :-) it looks so cool - and very recession-friendly too :-)
ReplyDeletethe cut looks great!!! i did this for a friend one time and it didn't go so well...i wish i could have made it more like this!!! well done!
