H is out of town and I basically binged on tv all weekend, in between hitting the American Apparel rummage sale and a bitch & switch at
Christina's (hooray for recycled fashion!).
But I did say we were supposed to
make shit this weekend... So after a five-episode marathon of Weeds (seven if you count the two I watched last night) I decided I needed a pair of cutoffs. Don't judge. We can't all be mistresses of the gocco/yudu/letterpress. Or whatever.
How'd you do?
(Photo via Garance Doré)My next DIY project will be to finally learn how to use our juicer. There's a bag of carrots in the fridge that's not gonna stay fresh until H-town gets home.
I watched five hours of the Food Network on the airplane. That's sort of like making something.
ReplyDeleteYes Amanda. Yes it is.
ReplyDeletesee i ignored what you said about getting away from the blogs ;-) because the weekend is my best time for catching up and drafting/scheduling posts. all that blogwork counts as my making stuff for now...
ReplyDeleteYou're not going to believe me... I made some cut-offs, too. Then I went camping in the North Georgia mountains and slept in them in an open field completely sans tent. Yeah, I took it to a whole new level...
ReplyDeletewas a planning weekend, i made lists and lists and more lists with big and small plans...
ReplyDeleteplus organized the studio.
i never wear pants, only dresses, so no cutt-offs for liv.
I made mixed-berry frozen yogurt and baked two pecan pies. Does that count?
ReplyDeleteI made myself buy new Ferragamos. Don't worry. I know that doesn't count.
ReplyDeleteI did not look at my blog once the entire weekend! I made a photo booth and baked, iced and sugared 65 cupcakes. It was a very productive weekend.
ReplyDelete*Sigh* Fine, my dad made the photo booth. I just watched.
I made some bunting, some cushion covers and today I made some pajama trousers. Does that count? Not strictly the weekend...
ReplyDeletei refinished a desk. if your cutoffs count, my desk does, too.
ReplyDeleteplus, we're way green with our recycling. so we get double points.
well if it makes you feel any better we yudidn't... instead we had friends from california over on saturday morning and made waffles, which turned into lunch, which turned into an impromptu bbq that night.
ReplyDeletewe pretty much couldn't get rid of them... and it was amazing. got absolutely nothing done!
welcome back. love the cutoffs.
Yeah it counts, but what matters is that You're Back. I don't like it when you take a break.
ReplyDeleteSomething to wear on my head.
ReplyDeleteMeg, aren't you wearing a flower on your head?
ReplyDeleteOr, did you make yourself a cold water bottle for your fever?
I decanted countless bottles of wine. It's sort of making something. I also made dinner every night, even though future husband was out of town.
Making DINNER definitely counts. I've been eating the weirdest salads concocted of nuts/cheeses/frozen vegetables found in dark corners. It's getting dicey.
ReplyDeleteHa! Well. I tried (key word here) to duplicate a DIY I found on Oh Happy Day, which consisted of spray mounting a really cool map onto foam core for my best friend. But I bought the wrong size foam core, so the whole thing was really anticlimactic! I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and, well, I guess it'll be this weekend's DIY, once again:)
ReplyDeletei could be inspired by mary louise's random outfits in weeds...
ReplyDeleteI made challah! Making bread is hard yo, but yummy.
ReplyDeleteha, you are so cute. they definitely count. xo
ReplyDeleteYes, for sure, and now I'm going to go cut up my old ones too...!
ReplyDeleteA co-worker of mine showed up to the office this past casual Friday in a pair of cutoff jean shorts and I instantly thought of you.
ReplyDeleteThough, I doubt he looked as hot in them as you do.
Are men even allowed to wear cutoffs?
I believe I spotted the Wedding Spinner in cutoffs at Fix. He was def pulling them off.
