for the rebellious bride

These shoes come in white. And then there is the dress. So. Rad.*

Ann Demeulemeester says "Good fashion for me is like rock 'n' roll - there's always a little rebellion in it." And Patti Smith (who else?) is her rock 'n' roll muse.

p.s. Jamie, why on earth would you think I disapprove of cowboy boots? Have you
seen Patti Smith?

I've decided to stop using the word "awesome." I don't know when I picked it up, and it's embarrassing, frankly. I mean, I grew up in northern california.

  1. Her legs scare me.

Also, I was recently mocked by New Yorkers for casual use of the word "awesome." Very embarrassing.

  2. I was just thinking she had inspired me to go running! For the first time in.... let's not go there.

  5. Everyone beat me too the rather obvious punch line.

We'll all be expecting "hella" in place of every awesome. (Which might be more embarrassing... heh.)

  6. uch, i so agree with the use of awesome. i feel like such a dumbass every time. my foreign boyfriend and his family are constantly mocking. they're like you sound like a "valley" girl, not even knowing what that means, and i'm like no way peeps, i'm from Jersey.

  7. The dress is fabulous, the shoes look like some sort of physical therapy device.

Awesome and rad make me laugh so much. Impossible to say without a Californian accent!

  8. I'm with Peony. I don't think I have ever said awesome or rad!

The dress is great. I am not sure about the shoes though. I liked them on Jane on Sea of Shoes but I don't think I could wear them. Especially not with a wedding dress. Does that make me boring?

  9. As a New Yorker who says "awesome" I don't think it requires a Cali accent, my brooklyn accent handles it just fine (and I probably sound just as ridiculous).

  10. Love the dress, but the shoes would give me blisters. Dang strappy styles.

  11. I'm still waiting to see a bride pull off a pair of Z-Coils under her dress.

Am I going to hell for saying that?

  12. I can't stop using awesome. It would take a serious overhaul of my vocabulary. Other embarrassing words I use far too often: bummer and sucks.

  13. dope - I think I'm too old for
sweet - we say at home as a *joke* (But I'd better be careful b/c that's how awesome snuck in. H-town and I are also enjoying "tweet" pronounced like "sweet" with a speech impediment. Yeswearedorks.)
    bummer - on occasion
sucks - I will never give up!

  14. The number of things the husband and I started pronouncing as if with a speeach impediment for a joke that are now firmly stuck in our vocabulary is embarrassing.

  15. My mr. is from Oakland, so he'll never give up "hella". And we talk like dorks, too -- I blame the lolcats.
