1. step away from the computer.
2. put on some loud music. jump up and down. possibly in your wedding dress. and the shoes. you have to break in the shoes!
3. refer to your fiancé as "my boyfriend" all day. it's very liberating. (sometimes i still call H-town boyfriend.)

Damn it East Side. Do you dig around in my brain when I'm asleep?
ReplyDeletehaha! i love it! i only call my fiance/husband boyfriend.. in fact he was still on one knee when i made him promise we would stick to boyfriend and girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. That photo made me laugh in the proverbial out loud manner.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ESB! I shall now slowly back away from the computer. shh... quiet, computer... shh....
ReplyDeleteha ha. this is too funny!
ReplyDeleteBwah! I still belligerently call my fiance "boyfriend". It drives my mom CRAZY!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much I really needed to hear this today... I am about to promptly go put on my shoes (http://greencottonblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/peacocktoeyellow_lg2.jpg) and dance.
ReplyDelete... I said fiance for the first time the other day and it sounded awkward... I am sticking with boyfriend.
Sometimes I call Nick my "husband" just to freak him out. When I do he looks at me, furrows his brows, then mutters something about having second thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAnd for that he gets a beat down.
I kid. I kid. :/
I didn't think I'd like using the word *husband* but most days it feels pretty good, I have to admit...
ReplyDeleteHe's forever "the boyfriend", if for nothing else, just for the irony :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I always call the Big Guy my boyfriend but people get so uppity about it ("umm he's your FIANCE!") what is the effin big deal??
ReplyDelete... lovin this list of suggestions, I think I will be trying them out very soon.
I hate the word fiance and refuse to use it. I am constantly corrected by those around me when I refer to Garrison as my boyfriend. It's a little annoying.
ReplyDeleteYou rock. But damn it, I don't have the shoes yet.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU. I needed that. I am in the throws of planning...and I sometimes need to remind myself to BREATHE.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually the opposite of most - my fiance and I have been engaged most of our relationship (we've been engaged 4.5 out of our 5 years together) so boyfriend sounds weird to me! But we're a bit weird and I wouldn't normally recommend being engaged 4.5 years, but we have our reasons. This post is great! Simple and to the point.

:D :D
ReplyDeleteI can't get into the "F"-word (fiance)... I think I'll be calling him my boyfriend right up until he turns into my husband :)
