Groom Style: F* saggy pants
Ill-fitting pants are the plague of the straight white guy, and I have a particular bone to pick with khakis. What is it with dudes and their enormous khakis?*
This article offers some hope. Finally, "carefully tailored, not-too-tight," flattering trousers are becoming more readily available.
(Corduroy pants, $130 at bonobos.com; Cotton flat-front pants, $198 at Marc by Marc Jacobs; Michael Bastian wool-cotton pants, $520 at Jeffrey; Corded cotton pants, $59.50 at J. Crew)

*If the guys are wearing khakis at your wedding, please make them tailored khakis. Otherwise I kind of get a flashback to my college boyfriend dressing up to go out to dinner with his parents. No offense.
YES. YesyesYES.
ReplyDeleteThe hangup over whether or not my guy was going to wear his grandfather's seersucker suit was totally the ass - but thankGOD we found a tailor who could turn saggy pants into luscious ass pants. I would marry nothing else. ;-)
Hubba hubba!
ReplyDeleteI told T. that no matter what he wear, he is going to have it tailored. Nothing is less flattering on a man than an ill-fitting suit. Luckily he agreed with me and he's already been fitted for a sleek linen suit.
I kid you not, I had the "Get a tailored suit, like, NOW" conversation with D. earlier today. Normally, he is a responsible dresser and has pretty fair taste in clothing, but the no suit situation is killing me slowly. This says it all and I couldn't agree more. But I did have scary flashbacks of college boyfriend in "dress" clothes. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteButts are back! Hurray!
ReplyDeleteYes. D grew out of the saggy baggy pants phase upon entering college, and I am so grateful.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of that "Curb your Enthusiasm" episode where Larry had the ridiculously large pleat in the front of his pants and Cheryl's friend confused it for a boner. (Am I allowed to say that on here?)Hee hee. xo
