F* H&M

I like their style. Don't get me wrong. But has anyone else noticed that the cotton blouses s l o w l y shrink over time?*

It took me a while to figure this out.

First I thought, "Do I really keep gaining weight?" Then I moved on to, "Why do I always buy the wrong size?" But finally it occurred to me, "If the clothes are that cheap, they're probably not made of the highest quality fabric."**

I think I'll stick to thrifting for a while. Or save my pennies to buy the Duskin pants. I have grown obsessed with the Duskin pants.

*And I don't put them in the dryer, people. I know how to take care of clothes.

**This is why I'm not planning to run out and shop the Alexander McQueen for Target collection. Even if it is inspired by Liela Moss. Cheap is not always a good thing.

  3. So with you. I bought one thing at Forever 21 five years ago, and swore I'd never again walk into the store.

  4. Definitely. You never know what you're getting when it comes to quality. I find you have to try on 50 items to come out with 1 thing you want to buy.

  5. We don't have an H&M here so...I go when I am out of state. I say eff em too. Why do I wear a size 10,000 there?

  7. oooo H&M, those tricksters. I own size zero (Ha) to 14 in their clothes. And everytime I'm in the store I get a cramp because I have 55 things draped over my arm to try on, ranging in size zero (Ha) to 14. It is such a game, such a wicked game.

  11. Vintage cotton is done shrinking. Right?

I also read that vintage polyester is better for you than new... Most of the bad stuff has had a chance to break down and float away. (I don't wear a *lot* of poly, but those old 50/50 t-shirts age so well.)

p.s. Srsly down with Forever 21. I mean, aren't women over 25 embarrassed to go in there? (She says, wearing ill-fitting panties from Forever 21.)

  12. I know it! They're trickier than Target, etc. because it's extremely gradual. But I keep going there! I tell myself I'm getting on the more expensive but high quality, classic pieces wagon but I balk when I get to the price tag.

  13. *cough* *sputter* McQueen for target? Oh dear lord I don't care if they don't last... I want! *sigh* will have to resort to paying inflated prices on US ebay though, since I'm not in the US.

Mind, having just looked at the two press release pics I'm pretty unimpressed. A logoed t-shirt, no thankyou.
