Paul Jasmin looks pretty slammin in Band of Outsiders.
Via all plaidout, of course, who points out that several young designers have started using older men for their look books.
p.s. My dad wore a white Mexican blouse thing. But he's a 6'2" sculptor. He pulled it off.
My dad will probably wear a suit that reflects his Canadian-man-turned-Parisian look.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love your dad. nicole, will you *please* send me the pictures??
ReplyDeleteMy father (who is huge and russian and named Boris .. no seriously) wants to wear a velvet tuxedo ... oh yeah velvet.
ReplyDeleteCoolest. Dads. Ever.
ReplyDeletePhotos for me pls Bridechka? Pretty pls?
I am all over it east side.
ReplyDeleteDrunken Russians in velvet are headed your way as soon as we get this shin dig done.
I. Die.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to preface this by saying, I love my dad dearly.
ReplyDeleteHis usual weekend attire is sweatpants (the kind with the elastic around the ankles), thick wool socks, Dansko clogs, and a t-shirt printed with some sort of wolf or salmon on the front (sometimes tie dyed). I'm guessing for our casual wedding it will be something along these lines, but with jeans instead of sweat pants.
Yes, we embrace our small-town country background. Or whatever you want to call it...
Wow. I can't believe I just shared that.
ReplyDeleteUm, Amanda, that's not what's considered small-town country. Some might actually call your dad an h-word. However, I appreciate that nobody called *my* dad an h-word.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
And also, I want pictures!!! (I'm really hoping for a tie-dyed porcupine. Could you arrange that?)
Hopefully something like this.
ReplyDeleteBut no, my dad usually favors a cashmere, cream colored suit that he's had for as long as I've been alive. Pretty awesome. He's also 6'2 and a woodworker, which kind of helps when you're trying to rock that kind of look. What is it with these tall guys?
I'm leaning more towards red-neck than hillbilly (or whichever ones still have all their real teeth), but trust me, if there's a tie-dyed porcupine out there, he's got it.
ReplyDeleteh i p p i e
ReplyDeleteOg sweet lordie I hope he decides to pull out a tux. I kind of like when the bride's dad is a little overdressed compared to everyone else.
ReplyDeletehere's to inappropriate dads!
ReplyDeletelupinbunny, you are aware of the you-comment-on-this-post-you-send-esb-your-wedding-photos rule?
<3
i just suggested a yellow bowtie to my pops for my wedding in august, and he made it clear he is "not a fan of bowties."
ReplyDeletesigh.
Oh man, I was way off. Yeah, that works. Beard. Tie-dye. The smell of cannabis wafting from both.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely more appropriate.
Amanda, guess what out-of-town groomsmen really really like at weddings?
ReplyDeleteTie-dyed t-shirts? ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you're picking up what I'm puttin down.
