heart of light = a diy valentine fiend

The garlands. These are made from recycled science journals, people.

The cookies. The valentines she sewed for her family. Again with the recycled journals. I am a sucker for recycled.

The diy notebook/organizer. (This has nothing to do with valentine's day. It's just awesome.)

I think it's very cool that Rachel is a creative scientist.* Is the left brain/right brain thing all a hoax?

*My stepmom was the same way. Brilliant in the lab, and then knocking herself out to do lino-cuts and make everyone marzipan for Christmas presents.

  9. show and tell! postpostpost!

I haven't received mine yet. And I didn't take pictures of the BE MINE I made for Sarah before I sent it off.

But imagine a goldleaf Keep Calm and Carry On made by an eight-year-old. Smudgy, but awesome. If I do say so myself.

  13. Nomi, I hope you receive your goodies soon! I'm afraid I smudged the heck out of the label when I stuck it on the mailer (darn roller ball pen) so I hope that doesn't slow it down. I have pics of your goodies but I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

I have a picture of the BE MINE in it's new home on my fridge.

  14. Sarah, can we pretend I'm your precocious eight-year-old sister? Who lives in LA?

    Wheeeeeeee!

  15. Awwww. You guys are sweet. I think I go through spurts of productiveness and then sit around and do nothing for long periods of time. So it just looks like I'm crazy productive.

And the left brain, right brain thing? I can't decide what to think of it. My math skills are actually kind of lacking, so I don't know where that leaves me.

P.S. I'm pretty sure I received the most awesome V-day swap package, and I will be posting tomorrow. If I can get my camera to cooperate.

  16. I love her and her blog. She is so crafty and cool. I'm sort of crafty, but I suck at science and math so I sticking to the left brain, right brain theory.

Btw, I think I always sound like a stalker when I gush over people. Yikes

  17. Hah! Certainly Nomi! Especially since the BE MINE is so aptly placed by the footprint ghost given to me by a friend's toddler son for Halloween.

At least I'm a teacher, so my fridge covered in little kid art isn't weird.
